The sockeye salmon run on Frazer was strong. Fishing them was a thrill although not foul hooking these fish was hard at times.

The dollies on the Zachar River took silver spinners and spoons on the swing when fished slow and deep. Bites came very often at the end of the retrieve. With the fly, they took egg pattern and leeches and minnow patterns (gray - silver).

Ocean fish on custom made aluminum boats with experienced boat captains. Both the 26’ and 23’ boat are equipped with current safety equipment, deep sea fishing poles and trolling poles for your conveince. Every captain has current licenses and is knowledgeable of local waters.

Travel a short distance from the lodge to fish in protected waters. Enjoy the grand scenery and the abundant sea life while hauling in your catch for the day.

Deep sea fishing could provide you with a catch of halibut, black rock fish, yellow eye, cod, Pollock, or flounder. For the occasional treat a skate or octopus may be snagged or a salmon shark may bite.

Currently halibut regulations specify guided fisherman are allowed five halibut per year with no halibut fishing on Thursdays. Regulations for the other species have not changed and you can find them in the Alaska Fish and Game regulations.

Troll for both king and silver salmon in the ocean or bay for a bright fresh fish. Cast from the boat or shore for Dolly Vardens or pink Salmon.

The shore also provides a great stretch for the legs and a perfect place for a picnic lunch. For families this allows those tired of fishing to beach comb while those choosing to continue fishing can.
