Lodge Today

Zachar Bay Lodge on Kodiak Island, Alaska, offers nature lovers, wildlife viewers, and fishermen every opportunity to enjoy all the boundless beauty and varied wildlife Kodiak Island has to offer.

Zachar Bay Lodge is located at one of Kodiak Island’s historic cannery sites. The large cannery dock, original dining hall and other out-buildings are a reminder of Kodiak Island’s rich fishing history. Sitting on seven acres of private land surrounded by Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, this remote location combines the feel of days gone by with comfortable modern hotel-like rooms providing you with a remote Alaskan experience that is unlike any other.

Miles from the road system, Zachar Bay Lodge is run by generator, water turbine and solar panels; the source of power being utilized depends on how much is needed. Meals are prepared in the original cannery dining hall where both breakfast and dinner are enjoyed, while noonday meals are usually picnic-style on the boat or on a beach. With long daylight hours, there is plenty of time to enjoy a stroll on the beach or take in the views while relaxing after dinner.

We look forward to your stay,
